My Shadow, Me, Sammy and the Sea

eBook (PDF), 71 Pages

"This delightful book is a fictional story regarding one persons’ childhood experiences of living with differing abilities, the occasional indifference of others, and of personal achievements and passions. It partly illustrates the perceptions, dreams, creations and passions of a person whose ‘world’ is shaped by feeling the odd one out sometimes in a ‘world’ where many children and adults in a mainstream society don’t understand or choose not to accept how difference doesn’t mean broken or damaged. Sometimes this book’s main character, or people like them, find that the ‘others’ can sometimes be the odd ones out in their (person with differing ability)‘world’."

"Autism connection" I have only read the review but looking forward to reading the rest of this book, as Louise is an inspirational parent, who really does embrace her child and his differences. She not only wants to learn from her own child, but from as she feels the best resources, people on the autism spectrum themselves. She is passionate about respecting others for their uniqueness and individuality and that not one human being is superior to another. Being on the autism spectrum myself and having a son I know how hard it can be, I have corresponded with Louise on my forum www.asplanet.info where she is refreshingly positive and shares her views honestly and openly, she gives people like myself hope that others do really want to understand and know. She brings out the best and positive things, and gives us all hope that the next generation of children will not feel as alienated as some of us on the autism spectrum have in the past. I feel my son like hers will have a brighter future because of efforts of people like Louise, who really cares. Aspergers Parallel Planet - Alyson Bradley

"Philip Wylie FCA MBA BEng Value-Added Financial & Media Services “I can thoroughly recommend Louise's poems, ESPECIALLY for parents and other relatives of autistic individuals because they have a healing effect in an extraordinarily inspirational way.
